Caddo Events

May: Annual Steamboat Regatta: (Call Caddo Lake Steamboat Co. 903 789-3978

Annual P.O.I.N.T. (Paraplegics on Independent Natures Tours) tournament, for kids and adults. (Call Shorty Powers, 972-524-4231 for more information)

May through June: Turtle Pilgirmage. Hundreds of female Red-ear Sliders come ashore to lay eggs. The City posts "Turtle Crossing" signs along the roadways to alert motorists to protect the "reptilian mothers."

July 4: Fourth of July & Dog Days Parade, new event for 2002. (Call Dottie Carter, 903 789-3268 for information.)

July 4: Independence Day Fire Works Celebration. Reflections of lighted boats add to the beauty of the spectacular fireworks show.

December: Third Sunday: The Annual Uncertain Floating Christmas Parade: For over 20 years this parade on the water has delighted visitors who line the banks of Uncertain to see this unique event. (Call Dottie Carter, 903 789-3268 for information.)

New Year's Eve: Fireworks Extravaganza (at dark on Dec. 31) Brilliant balls of colorful fire reflect in the waters of the lake. Can be viewed in the area of Johnson's Ranch. (Call 903 789-3213)
